On this 3 week regular - challenge difficulty tour we start in Mérida and finish in San Cristobal de las Casas in the Chiapas highlands. The odyssey is split up into four phases; the Yucatan, gulf coast, wetlands, the cacao region, and the mountains. Highlights: This tour can be divided into five phases.
The Yucatan: the charming, friendly Mayan people, ancient Mayan ruins and beautiful colonial towns and cities. Also, cenotes and ex-haciendas.
The Gulf coast: emerald blue sea, isolated beaches.
The wetlands: rivers, lagoons and marshes. Many, many birds.
The cacao growing region: cacao trees and haciendas. Chocolate products.
The mountains:Spectacular scenery, challenging riding.
